Recent Repower Examples
Example #1 here is a Formula that had 8.1 liter V-drives that consumed 70 GPH at cruise speed. That means short trips between fuel dock visits! So we installed a pair of the latest technology D4 (4-liter) 260HP diesel engine packages and now it delivers the same cruise speed, but at 24 GPH! That's almost a 300% improvement!
Example #2 is a 50' houseboat that needed to pick up the pace just a bit, as it could only achieve a blistering 8 knots! It also needed some freshening up with regard to the helm appearance. The Detroit 4-53s were replaced with Volvo Penta D6 310HP sterndrive packages for the maximum efficiency! It also solves some noise and smoke problems for sure. Top speed now 20 knots!
Example #3 is a 29' Blackfin. She had some older Volvo Penta inboards that just did not have what it takes. The Volvo Penta D4 300HP engines with EVC (Electronic Vessel Control) makes for a very nice, clean installation in a smaller package!
